the sea breeze, broken knees, and a rhyme for a dollar

i went to the post office and used a credit card for $1.98. i had $1.57 cash (or, more specifically, dimes and nickels), and since it was unusable at the post office, i went and wasted it on grape soda which i drank about half of and then i poured the remaining half in the road in a vain attempt to make it less dusty so i could breathe.

a funny thing that i saw on television today:

"She's called the Sea Breeze, but 70 mph winds are battling her today." oh, the irony.

something not very funny that i saw on television today:

people seem to think it is reasonable to leave their small children alone in running cars. then the children take the cars out of park and they roll away. my brother was a pioneer in this field. we were on vacation in florida when i was a baby and he was probably about three. he and i were in the car, which was parked on a hill at the campground we were staying at and he took the parking brake off. the car started to roll down the hill, but my mom leapt in the window, or something, and put it back on, breaking her knee in the process. she still has knee problems today. let this be a lesson: having kids will ruin your life.

i get to babysit at 8.30 tomorrow morning!!!
